Environment and spatial planning

Environmental issues now play a considerable role in the development of an airport. Airport growth places increased pressure on the environment and airport surroundings. The most prominent environmental issue is noise, but local air quality and third party risk are also significant aspects.

We help airports to develop within their environmental constraints. Optimisation of environmental capacity and provision of advice for maximal usage are further aspects of our consultancy service.

Land use planning is the key to achieving a good balance between the airport and its surroundings. Balanced spatial planning is in our view an essential prerequisite for optimal use of an airport, both in economic and environmental terms.

Our services typically include the following:

  • Noise calculations and measurements
  • Third party risk
  • Local air quality
  • Obstacle limitation surfaces
